The Time-machine concept 'Re-visited'

When I was a kid, there used to be a serial aired on the television,'the time machine'(if I remember it correctly). This serial had something new about the concept, the concept of a 'time machine'...There were a few students, who invented a machine, which was actually able to surpass time....This machine could help them to steal a quick glance into the past or let them investigate the future.

It was something really intriguing for the kids, especially the students managing to go back to the past, playing around with their dads and moms when they were young, seeing what their grandfathers and grandmothers looked like and stuff....

That serial didn't continue for long(or atleast it looked so,given my interest in such things) but that left me thinking...Was there really a possibility of such things happening in the future ?? Who knows !! The movie also seems to re-visit the concept of a time machine with the exception that in this case, the machine could just 'predict' the future.

As I grew up,I came in touch with comics and other superman serials, each of them seemed to kindle the possibility of a superhero, and I kept thinking if I could be the one who could dissolve myself into thin air and nip through space in a sort of disembodied way and assemble the parts again just where I want them(just like Mr jeeves).

Now,as I grow, and look back in retrospection, the whole idea looks stupid to me,but somehow my heart dosen't want to refute the possibility altogether...

Krrish--The Indian Superman

The man of steel, who can save this humanity, escpaping all disaster plots made for him.He has the power to travel faster than bullets and can climb the tree faster than an ape.In the process,he dosen't lose his charm to flirt around with his 'Kaki'(Priyanka Chopra--watch out the movie to find out why Kaki !).He drinks bournvita and always acts in-line with his Grandmother's instructions....Behold kids, the Indian Superman is Born.

Just like the pre-crisis version of Superman,Krrish also wears a mask,to present a secret identity to the world,to prevent his enemies from harming his family or friends...

In the later part of the movie,he has the characters of the post-crisis superman, who no more conceals his identity but differs from him in having extra powers of invulnerability and super-strength.

Rakesh Roshan - The marketing Genius

The man has found the gap,its gonna be four. The heroes are in plenty, and movies in thousands...but Hritik Roshan today has a unique identity. In all this success and stardom,Rakesh Roshan has played an important role.Surprisingly,Rakesh Roshan never did so good in his own acting days with respect to the celebrity status, may be he has learnt a lot from his own mistakes !

Besides all merchandise involved, for the brand promotion of Kkrish, like 'Krrish' dolls, masks, key chains, colouring books, watches, activity books, school bags, shirts ,Rakesh Roshan has also made sure to advertise other brands during the movie..Tide(the washing powder), bournvita, Hero Honda and what not.

The Indian cinema was lacking its own super-hero ,Hritik seems to have fill the void.He is the Indian-Superman of the Indian Cinema.

About the movie

Just another superman movie, with an Indian touch to it.A superman who got his powers in legacy, who lives in a village, plays around with animals like 'Mogli' ,gets exported to foreign nations(Singapore this time) also, fights all evil and saves humanity.

The stunts of the Hero(Hrithik) are breathtaking ,dance impeccable and acting admirable. The plot is just ok,which has an end that the viewers can easily expect.Rakesh roshan has made it very clear in the movie that it is a sequel of 'Koi Mil gaya' (so that the kids can expect such movies even in the future).Well if you compare it with 'Koi Mil gaya' the music of KMG was much better than 'Kkrish' and the plot was a bit more captivating(just talking about the kids guys !) though the character 'Jaadu' was also something borrowed from the UFO serials.....

The movie initially introduces the concept of time-machine which can predict the future. This machine was something invented by the Hero's father(Rohit from Koi Mil gaya).Naserrudin essays the role of a scientist whose intentions are evil behind getting that time-machine built by Rohit(Hritik Roshan--who is the father of the Hero -again Hritik).Soon after the machine is built successfully,Rohit comes to know, through the machine, that he would soon be shot-dead by Naserrudin shah, and that is when he decides, that he would not let it go into wrong hands. He destroys the machine, and is captivated by Naserrudin shah, who just keeps his brain and retina alive(essentials for providing the password to that ultra-modern machine).

Rohit's son(This rohit is the Hritik who was in KMG and was also the scientist-Rakesh Roshan's son) who is initially unaware of all this dances around the trees in the forest(like 'Mogli') and happens to meet 'Priyanka chopra' ,who is from singapore, one day. They fall in love just like all Hindi movies and sing songs.

Later on,he is called to singapore by Priyanka chopra, and there he displays his superman instincts which were nothing but his Mogli characteristics with some supernatural powers. He sings a few more songs, romances around with Priyanka and in the end saves his father and destroys all evil.

Hritik has really done well in the movie, priyanka chopra also had an ok performace--her role is not so short as other heroines in superman movies, and that Maestro,Naserrudin Shah ,who has played the role of a scientist, with a negative shade to it will also continue to take the applaud of the viewers once again.

By and large, the movie should do good at the box office, for mainly two reasons--one being that the target audience (kids) is well defined for the movie and the other that the movie is well suited for the multiplex culture.

PS:-- Though the movie is not an IMAX presentation,it is being screened at both, the normal screen and IMAX(big) screen to make some easy money.Obviously, its not a 3D-movie.
